Workshop: Introduction to Oil and Cold Wax Medium

Would you like to learn how to create artwork with beautiful layers, textures and colour, from subtle to bold? Oil and cold wax is unlike any other fine art medium in its potential for gorgeous colour, ease of use and interesting effects.

Unlike encaustic, which is a hot wax method that demands good ventilation and special equipment in the studio, cold wax medium is non-toxic and used at room temperature.

Join me for this two-afternoon workshop and learn all the insider methods and secrets of working with this wonderful and versatile medium. In this technique-driven workshop you’ll learn the basics and more so that you can continue exploring on your own.

The emphasis will be on non-objective art, with a focus on process rather than finished pieces. You’ll be encouraged to play and discover. Workshop participants are limited to four so you’ll have lots of personal attention and direction. This course is suitable for those with some painting experience (any medium).

All materials are supplied (except protective coverings such as aprons and gloves). Come enjoy oil and cold wax with me!
